this brand Combat mushroom powder seems to be a very high quality product. It's a 70g jar of fine, tan colored powder. No fillers or other ingredients, just whole body turkey tail mushrooms. It has a fresh, earthy smell and tastes as it should. It's labeled as 100% whole body, certified organic, 1:1 hot water extraction of 2000mg and 500mg beta-glucans per 1tsp. I got this to help support my 3 year old dog who is going through cancer. She does not seem to mind the flavor and eats it happily. The recommended dosing goes by the pets weight and is listed on the label but youll need your own measuring scoop as one is not included in the jar.

I am a pet professional and Animal Essentials is a brand I trust and recommend. The product is pure turkey tail mushroom powder with no other ingredients. I added it to my dogs' homemade meals and they all ate it without any issues.

I gave this product to three small dogs and one medium sized dog, putting some of such on their breakfast and/or dinner meals. They all loved it, even the picky eater who rarely likes anything other than her normal food. Moreover, when this was added to their meals and they got a whiff of such, they were all avaricious to eat their meals compared to their food without this added to it. On these bases, I believe that the flavor and smell of this product is delectable to dogs. It smells like mushroom powder (a sort of earthy, woodsy, chocolatey rich smell, but no chocolate at all).As for health effects, they were all more energetic during the weeks I gave this to them. This might be a plus for some dog owners, but these four dogs are all already rambunctious, so making them more energetic resulted in them all being more difficult to manage and deal with. Specifically, I had to take them for walks and play with them more often because they had more energy, plus the two male dogs would wrestle and play-fight with each other more. I would give this to dogs who have low energy and/or health problems, but giving it to healthy rambunctious dogs may make them more difficult, demanding, and time consuming to manage and look after because of their increased energy level from consuming this. So what I did was reduce the amount I gave them by about 50-75%, and doing that was helpful for reducing the amount of energy this gave them. As for immune effects, I did not notice them having any symptoms of illness during the weeks they consumed this and it did seem as if they were all healthier and more vibrant during such time.Based on these experiences and how much the dogs loved taking such, I recommend this product, but also recommend consumers use discretion on what dogs to give it to and to be mindful that already energetic and rambunctious dogs could get more rowdy and energetic from consuming this. I also recommend consumers first try the recommended dose on the container, but if your dogs have too much energy from such then reduce the dose by increments of 25% until you achieve the desired energy level increase for them. I ended up giving them about 25% of the recommended dose and such worked out well for them and for me, and prolonged the use of this product by a few weeks. All in all, great product!

I make my Dutch/German Sheperd's food, after doing so much research and balancing ingredients to make sure he's getting the right amount of healthy fats, proteins, vitamins, etc., etc. I rotate out certain ingredients and mushrooms of all different kinds are a great addition but the ones that are best for you, Turkey tail being one of them, are very difficult to find fresh but have so many added benefits (for animals and humans alike) so the dried variety is where it's at. Not only does this product not have any fillers, but it's also organic and made in the USA. It's great for their immune systems and although this isn't the only thing I add to my dog's food (since it is a balancing act) I know that it helps keep him where he needs to be. I always get major kudos from the vet on not only overall his health but also his coat and the weight on him since so many Sheperd's are super lean no matter how much protein you give them it's difficult to get them to fill out, but my 4-year-old male is just shy of 90lbs..a pure torpedo fur bullet. I usually add this to the food I've premade, mixed in with a little dry food but on the days where I've run out of his homemade food, I sprinkle this over his dry food with a scope of plain Greek yogurt and a little water to make a gravy of sorts and he devours it.

I mix the supplement with food to get my dogs to take it effortlessly. After several months of using the product with my dog, I feel like the product is high quality and it serves its purpose. I will continue to use this product as a preventative for my other dogs.

Mish, our 11 year old shepherd mix has a tumor on her spleen. After a week on combat the tumor was noticeably smaller. She has a lot more energy and is acting like her old self. She’s been taking it for 3 months now and is doing great! I really recommend this product
